Our Story
Dawn has always loved creating-planning parties, styling little moments, and bringing ideas to life. After trying salons with her cosmetology license, she found her true calling in August 2025 on a pop-up picnic at Hatteras Island…where she proposed to KP! Inspired, they turned that spark into Opal & Ivy. Dawn dreams up the vision, marketing, and customer care, while KP handles logistics, setup, and brings every detail to life-including building their signature picnic table with her dad. Together, they craft thoughtful, whimsical experiences full of heart and magic.

Dawn isn’t just a creative genius-she’s a connection-maker at heart. With a knack for making everyone feel seen, heard, and celebrated, her magic shines through in everything she creates-from art to unforgettable experiences.
Since she was young, Dawn has been drawn to the arts and the joy of bringing people together. Whether she’s painting, styling cozy living spaces, crafting glittery sneakers, or singing, her creations tell stories and spark emotions that linger long after. She loves understanding dreams, fears, and little wishes, weaving them into experiences that truly connect.
Her love for event planning, especially pop-up picnics, revealed how magical shared moments can be. After her first picnic on Hatteras Island, where she proposed to KP, she knew she had found her calling. Every detail matters, from picking the perfect decor to arranging comfy seating, ensuring each picnic feels joyful, cozy, and full of heart.
Across Central VA, Northern VA, Maryland, and beyond, Dawn brings her all to every setup, creating whimsical spaces that invite laughter, connection, and relaxation. For her, creativity and community go hand in hand; every picnic is a little celebration of togetherness, a reminder that slowing down to connect is pure magic.
